The tide is turning when comedy is allowed to be funny again. I can forgive Louis CK's perv action since he astoundingly admitted what he did rather than attack the women and call them hysterical liars, the usual response.

I never forgive perverts for being honest. That's simply too low a bar.

If they didn't want me to hate them, they wouldn't perv on women.

Biddy O'Laughlin is fantastic... there's a skit on YouTube where she's a rabbit... hilarious!

Will watch Dark Queen this weekend... thanks for the tip.

We need to piss ourselves laughing at Big Handed Trans Giants, Trans Activists and Handmaidens more! We need to affirm their insanity at every opportunity by laughing at them openly.

Absolutely agree. I'll find Biddy's rabbit. The Dark Queen was released the week after Trump was elected. I reckon the trans truth-tellers will come out of the woodwork in their droves now. The potential for comedy, for those that dare, is unprecedented. Alas my 'TransTasmanian' show pitch was rejected by the Melbourne Comedy Festival. Maybe next year.

Watched lastnight. "But you still shit like a man" ... that's a comeback I hope I never have to use, but will, if forced to.

That's a bummer. The harmful reach of this ideology is mind blowing. Hopefully you'll get to perform it before then.

😂 Yes, that was funny, but not so funny in the flesh! 😣 I think all women with their eyes open today should do comedy in some form or other. It's the only answer to the absurdities we are being expected to tolerate and believe. I'll find a place for my show somewhere somehow, even if I have to put it online with canned laughter.

To be honest, I thought you were a lot funnier than Adrienne.

I chuckled at her joke about the first woman's orgasm. And I appreciated that she said ANYTHING funny about transgenderism, even if it was quite mild stuff. But other than that, she just seemed to be trying to shock people into laughing uncomfortably. I didn't.

I laughed out loud at your joke about men finding the clitoris. :D

I get it. It's a minefield and a mess. I can't forgive LCK either. I think Adrienne was curtailed in what she could say about trans on Netflix. Even if the US might not arrest as many people as the UK does for wrong-speak, if it can all but cancel a black male comedian as famous as Dave Chapelle for saying in his show that he was 'on Team Terf', then I think it was quite risky and daring of her to take on the Trans mafia at all. But comedy is a matter of personal taste, to be sure. I appreciate the comedy compliment, though. xx

Eleganta's avatar

The US doesn't arrest ANYBODY for wrong-speak. That's a purely UK thing.

Dave Chapelle is still well and kicking. He hasn't been canceled in any way. Netflix stood up to the transgenderists on his behalf, and Saturday Night Live later lampooned the whole thing.

Adrienne could have been scathing about transgenderists, and the worst that would have happened would have been the transies stomping their feet at Netflix again. Maybe Netflix wouldn't have stood up on behalf of a minor comedian. But her jokes would still be out there now.

Americans don't fear the police over speaking their minds. Not even remotely. Only the British do.

added 3/20/25.......I watched this again last night for the first time since it came out and it's as funny as ever. It would never be made today as there are too many "protected" groups where humor is found. I'm pretty sure the frontal nudity, male and female, did not make it on the big screen.

And we're coming up to the 50th anniversary of The Holy Grail. Time flies, eh?

You probably can’t show it anymore without it being slammed as anti-trans.

Gender idiot-ology is a BELIEF just as black people were intellectually inferior to white people, or women were not capable of being financially responsible so they couldn’t get a credit card without her husband signing off on it. Or that phrenology could tell a person’s intellect, character, and abilities. If you can’t question something it’s not a science, it’s propaganda.

I don’t see how Democrats are going to give up that belief, and that does bode well for all of us.

When I listened to Joe Rogan interview Ari Shaffer, it was illuminating, re Louis CK.

Also, vilifying white women all this time is only splitting women’s rights momentum, likely on purpose by the powers that be, so easing up off that horse might be more beneficial than beating it?

I haven't seen that Rogan interview. I'll check it out. Totally agree that white women bashing is central to the current strain of misogyny, as Adrienne highlighted very cleverly. The TRAs have definitely used that stick to bash us with to great effect. Sorry I missed your comment till now. I'm on the road visiting family, with limited time for blogging.

Irish comedy lady, Mary Bourke is also fantastic and deserves to be known. Though I’m not sure if they’ve shut her up over there.

If Louis is using his power in the industry to promote women in comedy, I say, heck yeah!

Oh god yes, Mary Bourke! She was the first 'out' Terf comedian I came across, in fact, long enough ago for me, shamefully, to have all but forgotten her. I just checked her out on Comedy Unleashed. Hilarious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hz-tj0jR39Q. And yeah, I think I agree that Louis could do no better than to genuinely promote talented female comics.

Yeah, it's a good idea. I've had the same idea for a while and what I think is a pretty good title too. I wanted to make it part podcast, to hopefully interview various women in comedy, new and more established. I just can't quite find the time yet. I've got a comedy comp to get through next month, then we shall see.... Thanks for the thought. We XXs sure need the laughs. 😏

well the man is continuing to fill audiences yes - and how do we understand the billions of men wanking to the vile online porn industry - oroppin up far more incidious exploitative conduct ; the individuals involved could tell him to put it away mate and have done it in a timely way imo - ffs - he is not unusual is the sad fact despite his conduct - women need to stop trying to be sooo nice - I support the women but he apologised and his wanking to try it on whilst ick does not say who he may be today does it ?

I don't know Ima. His public wanking at the height of his extreme, unprecedented fame and industry power in front of women in the comedy/TV business who were effectively powerless to tell him to put it away without risking their future in the industry is akin to more physical forms of sexual abuse for the humiliation it caused these women who had to continue working with him. I was a big fan of his comedy, as were my children, male and female, when teens, but not after this came to light after decades of rumours that should have been enough for him to stop it, if he had any decency or respect for women, or if the industry did, but he and it didn't. I didn't know he was selling out shows again. His tour to NZ a couple of years back was cancelled due to poor ticket sales and protests from women (and men) here. I signed my name to one such protest. As for men (and boys) getting off on the disgusting and abusive online porn; you can be fairly sure he is one of them. I've been an active anti-porn protester for a long time, and got myself cancelled from a few places for my troubles. Never mind the outrageous misogyny it breeds, it's done much to ruin my sons' generation of boys.

The UK is well on its way to becoming a country that suppresses free speech much like Russia, Iran and China. The question we in the US must ask ourselves is how long before we acknowledge this fact and realize that we can no longer be allies with a country that doesn’t share our love of freedom.

Expand full comment
Terf vibes's avatar

As far as Terfs are concerned, the US has led the way and acted as censor in chief of women's free speech and rights. Then there's Roe... But the UKs arrests for Terf tweets are a new low, to be sure. The West in general is in a very bad way politically. There are hardly any politicians in either country I trust to uphold my rights as a woman and Terf, nor many creatives either.

Eleganta's avatar

The US police have never shown up at a woman's doorstep because she tweeted. They can't. The US has Constitutionally-guaranteed freedom of speech.

However, the UK police can. And do. As Posie Parker has said, the UK is far worse about censoring women's free speech and rights. It's a very serious problem.

Since there's been such a (wet) blanket on trans stuff, apart from Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais, I hope comedians go all-trans, all the time! I couldn't find Iapalucci's trans material on YouTube (go figger) or anywhere else. I don't have Netflix but I expect eventually The Dark Queen will become available somewhere.

The trans ideology with its tiny minority is as authoritarian as any ideology in recent history and it’s time they’re stopped ! Humor is one great tool , which is why they’re so hysterical ! You can make joke’s about any minority except for the” sacred” trans cult! Maybe it’s because they know they’re lying !
